just a few quick headsupses on stuff i'll be doing around the annual singapore writer's festival:

Little Things - an anthology of poetry edited by Loh Chin Ee, Angelia Poon and Esther Vincent
When: Sat 2 Nov 1130am-1pm (I'll be reading around 1230)
Where: The Arts House
Who: Aaron Lee, Madeleine Lee, Gilbert Koh, Leong Liew Geok, Joshua Ip, Teng Qian Xi, introduced by Christine Suchen Lim
What: Join Ethos Books for the launch of an exciting new poetry anthology targeted at adolescents. Teaching Poetry to Adolescents: A Teacher's guide to Little Things will be launched alongside the anthology.

Singlish in Sing Lit
When: Sat 2 Nov 4-5pm
Where: Binary Pavilion, Festival Green, SMU
Who: Colin Goh, Faith Ng, Joshua Ip moderated by Faith Poon
What: Authenticity – that’s why writers use the local patois in their writing. Find out how Singapore writers deploy Singlish and how readers and audiences have responded. Very fun one – must come, okay?

Reading: Awake in Utopia
When: Sun 3 Nov 10-11am
Where: TCC, SMU
Who: Cathy Park Hong, Dean Francis Alfar, Lee Jing-Jing, Joshua Ip hosted by Paul Tan
What: Mornings start off on a perky note with fresh coffee at Utopia Reads at tcc@SMU. Festival Director Paul Tan hosts fresh voices Lee Jing-Jing, Dean Francis Alfar, Deborah Emmanuel, Joshua Ip, Loh Guan Liang and Cathy Park Hong, who will read from works that remind them of utopia. (Supported by the connoisseur concerto.)

From the Belly of the Cat by Stephanie Ye
When: Sun 3 Nov 1130am-1230pm
Where: Festival Pavilion, Campus Green, SMU
Who: Jemimah Wei, Jeremy Tiang, Wena Poon, JY Yang, Jon Gresham, Sam Toh, Joshua Ip hosted by Stephanie Ye and Kenny Leck
What: Felis catus takes centre stage in this anthology of short stories inspired by the domestic cat. Join the writers (most of whom are also notorious cat sympathisers), editor Stephanie Ye and publisher Kenny Leck as they read from the collection and answer questions of both literary and feline nature.

Balik Balik Kampung by Verena Tay
When: Tue 5 Nov 7-8pm
Where: Binary Pavilion, Festival Green, SMU
Who: Idk if I am actually reading because there are a ton of people involved here
What: Balik Balik Kampung is a second collection of short stories written by authors who have lived in their neighbourhoods for 10 years and more. Once again, the tales invite you home to reminisce. (This event is back to back with the launch of Diary of a Stone Monkey by Ng Yisheng, an incredible writer).

Making Love With Scrabble Tiles by Joshua Ip
When: I DONT KNOW YET (WATCH THIS SPACE)
Where: see above
Who: me
What: This is my second book
