this poem was written for the sole purpose of delivering two very, very bad puns (one more obscure than the other).

here's something a little bit lighter - a sonnet in tetrameter, on first kisses.

we've all met a tourist or two along the way, or been one ourselves, haven't we?

(i would also like to credit photoshop for popularising (ok well not necessarily popularising) the usage of the photographic terms "dodge" and "burn" in the sense of "lighten" and "darken".)

in the spirit of christmas (i.e. blatant consumerism and marketing), i've decided to post a poem here every day from my new collection. it's only a quarter of the book, please do buy the rest ;}

day 1 brings a piece from the 2nd half of the collection, very much towards the end, very much after the fact.

i've always been fascinated with the old people who gather at hdb void decks and badminton courts to practice 太极拳 at unearthly hours of the morning. more recently they've moved on to new fads such as line dancing or folk dancing, which is a shame - tai ji is so inherently dance-like anyway.
